12/30/2010

I slept like a rock. I didn't hear a single sound all night. I was feeling much better, but now Klif had a cold. We spent some time hanging out at home in the morning, and then headed out to run some errands. Klif's truck battery had died, so we replaced that (thank goodness for the socket set we got for Christmas!), delivered Jacob and Ella's presents, and then stopped by Lowe's to pick up supplies to refinish Will's toy chest. My dad built this chest when we were kids (probably before me!) and it is a good solid chest, just needs fixed up! I work in the garage on the toy chest for a long time and Klif stayed in with Will. At one point Klif came out to the garage with me so that I could show him something, and we put sleeping Will in his Boppy. When we came back in just a couple of minutes later, he was screaming! I suspect there was some puppy mischief involved. That evening he got a quick bath and then it was time for bed.

This is how I found Will this morning.
Just as I thought I was getting better, today I had the worst cold I've had in a long time. I was having trouble breathing, I was severely congested, and Klif was at work. I felt bad taking care of Will, knowing that he would probably get some of what I had. We spent a lot of time laying, with him on the ottoman and me on the couch, just close enough to replace the pacifier. Klif ended up coming home from work with an upset stomach. He took care of Will for a while and I napped. Later that evening we ordered a small pizza and then I cuddled with Will on the couch. I was feeling a little better than in the morning, but I took cold medicine and a Tylenol PM, and went to bed early while Klif took care of Will's last feeding.

After being sick all night, Klif got up with Will and tended to him in the morning. I was felling much better, but worn out, so I slept in late. That afternoon I took the girl dog to the clinic to attempt to get her shots while Klif stayed home with Will. I waited in the lobby for my number, 27, to be called. After an hour and half, they had gotten from number 8 to number 14. I left, knowing that company was on their way to visit. Sara and Kyle arrived and we visited for a while before heading to BW3's for dinner. Here is what Will did the entire time. We had a good time hanging out, and after dinner they continued on their way to Kentucky. We headed back home and it wasn't long before we were all in bed.

I slept in, feeling sick again, while Nana took Will. When I woke up, she said he had spit up a lot with his morning feeding. Klif had also texted me and let me know that he was sick all night. We decided to go to a few stores and spent some time picking up last minute items for tonight's Cooper family Christmas. We went to the mall, and I was walking with Will propped against my shoulder, facing backwards. All of a sudden, I heard him heave, and then a loud SPLAT, as the whole bottle that I had just fed him came right back out. It was all over me, all over the floor, and a little bit on him. I passed him of to Nana and immediately started cleaning the floor with baby wipes. I then cleaned the little bit that was on him off, and then had to go buy a new shirt. In the bathroom I changed my shirt and all of Will's clothes. We decided to head home, since he obviously wasn't feeling well. At Nana's, I tried giving him more formula, but he threw it all up again. I called the pediatrician and they told me to try Pedialyte and to monitor his hydration. We gave him 1oz. of Pedialyte, and he threw it up, plus a little leftover formula, all of Grandpa. Even though he was sick and throwing up, he was happy and smiling and laughing in between bottles. We gave Will a quick bath, as baby vomit is not an enticing smell, and then we packed up the car and headed to Uncle Mike's in Indy Christmas. We enjoyed visiting with cousins who we don't get to see much, and Will was starting to keep 1/2 oz. of Pedialyte at a time down. Before long, I started feeling very, very sick. We headed out in a bit of a rush to get me home, and Klif stayed up with Will while I went right to sleep.

Nana got up with Will and let me sleep in a little. I was feeling even worse, and I think she could tell! I got Will all spiffed up for church, but he was NOT interested in having his picture taken. After a long and in depth conversation with his monkeys, we loaded up and headed out to church, and then after church we went to Panera for lunch and to meet an old friend of mine, Heather. It was packed, and I even ran into an old acquaintance that I went to summer camp with one year. After Panera we dropped Rachel the Great off at home and then headed back to Nana and Pa's for the football game. The rest of the evening was spent relaxing!

We spent the morning hanging out around the house and relaxing after a long day. In the evening, Josh and Jill invited us over for dinner, and to play their Kinect. It was fun watching Nana and Pa act like fools. While we were there, Steve brought the dog back, since they had to go out of town last-minute. Back at Nana and Grandpa's, we relaxed and watched some TV while the dog was barricaded into the kitchen (Nana is not a big fan of dogs!). She was very well behaved. Will was in a very good mood and spent a lot of time with Nana and Pa since I was not feeling well. After his bath we all went to bed to catch up on some rest.

I got up early with Lily and sat with her for a while as Grandpa got ready to take her to McDonald's. Everyone else started waking up and Klif and I headed back to the same house to see if the possible owner was now home. The lights were now on, and the door into the back of her garage was wide open. There was still no answer at the door, but a stocking in the window said "Jen" and we had the address, so Klif went back and did some searching online while I made lasagna. Klif ended up finding the lady's name, and contacted some relatives on facebook. It wasn't long before I was receiving calls, but she had already found her lost dog. Soon we were all at Nana and Pa's eating lasagna, and after that it was present time. Caleb and Megan hadn't arrived yet, so Nana let Lily and Will open some of their presents. When it was time for us siblings to open presents, Lily spent the whole time picking up paper and singing "Clean up! Clean up! Everybody do your share! Clean up! Clean up! Everybody, everywhere!" She never tired of it! We had a lot of fun and got a lot of great things! It was a long day and by the time everyone was done with gifts we were ready to sleep. Everyone but Will and I headed home, and we headed right to bed.
