We headed out early in the morning for Will's 4 month check up. He now weighs 17lbs 4.8 ounces and is 25 3/4" long. He is in the 90th percentile for weight and 89th percentile for height. He is a big boy! He loves to stand, and only needs support to keep from leaning over. He bears all of his weight on his legs. He loves to jump, too. We were surprised to hear that the right side of his head is just slightly flatter than the left - he always favors laying with his head to the left! The doctor told us we should start phasing out swaddling, and also increased tummy time to 60 minutes a day, just until he starts rolling. Will got two more shots and another oral vaccine, and did much better this time. After the appointment we headed to Kokomo to have lunch with Grandma Cooper. We visited at her house for a while and then picked up Juanita and headed to Culver's. We had a really good lunch, and the weather outside was amazing. Will hasn't spent much time outside, so it was nice to not have to hurry him in and out of the car. After lunch we headed back to Indy, and stopped at Verizon on the way back. It was still so nice out! When we got home we even took the dogs for a nice leisurely walk. Will seemed to enjoy being out in the Snugli and getting some fresh air. After we got back in Will ate, and a couple of hours later Will got his first taste of cereals. It went okay. He didn't quite get the bite concept, but was intrigued that something was in his mouth that wasn't from a bottle! Will stayed up with daddy for a while until bedtime.
Daddy fed Will before heading off to work and he went back to sleep. I got up at 9 and was anxious to get a couple of quick things done before he woke up, but he woke up at 9:05! In the morning, Will was wanting to be held at all times. I was having a hard time getting anything done, and the dogs were being extra needy. I was getting frustrated with not being able to do anything! Klif was having a rough day at work, too. Will calmed down significantly in the evening and I was able to grab a bite to eat and get a little bit of housework done. By the time Klif got home from work Will was halfway through his last bottle, and daddy took over while I made dinner.
Before I left for work in the middle of the night I put Will's Valentine's monkey in his crib for him when he woke up. Daddy got him up and dressed, and Will loved the monkey. I picked him up after daycare and we headed straight home. We took a few Valentine's pictures and then Will scarfed down a bottle and took a short nap. I tried to put him down in his swing but he woke woke right up. He was happy though, and stayed in his swing for a while so I could grab some lunch and clean a little. We waited up for daddy tonight and then went to bed!
Today was daddy's birthday! I got up and fed Will, and then took him into our bedroom to lay with daddy. Daddy did not want to wake up! Will gave him the only thing he knows how to make, and I let Klif change him since it was his birthday. We all headed downstairs and I made breakfast while daddy and Will played. Klif had to fix a co-worker's computer, and I stayed home with Will. Will fell asleep right after Klif left and I rocked him while he slept until Klif got home 3 hours later. I had started to get a headache, so I took some medicine and then started dinner. After dinner Klif took over and I headed to bed so I could get up for work in the morning. Klif said Will stayed up later than usual, until about 10.
Daddy got Will up this morning since I picked up some overtime at work, and then I came home so that that daddy could head off to his overtime shift! He was headed off to Chicago for a run and Uncle Jeremiah and Uncle Caleb needed to use our truck so we dropped daddy off at work. We stopped for lunch at McDonald's before we dropped him off. After that we made a quick stop at Archiver's and then headed home. I was very tired and was falling asleep when I was feeding Will, and luckily he was acting tired too. I rocked him in his room and he fell asleep in no time. I put him down in his crib and went to lay down. I left the garage door open so that Uncle Caleb could just hop in and grab the truck in hopes that I could take a nap. About the time I heard Caleb getting the truck, Will started crying. He was MAD! It wasn't near time to eat, but it was a hungry cry, so I got him out of his crib, made a bottle, and then went back upstairs to the bedroom and I laid down on our bed with Will laying next to me, very happy to be eating. By the time the bottle was gone he was FAST asleep, and slept for a solid hour and a half. After our nap, we played downstairs and waited to hear from daddy. Soon we found out that daddy would be late getting home, so I put Will to bed when he started to get tired.
Daddy had a later shift today and I got up shortly after he left for work. Will and I stayed upstairs for a while and he had fun in his bumbo and his johnny jump-up while I worked in my room for a while. He was starting to get tired, so I seized the opportunity and loaded him up into his car seat and headed out for the day. First we went to the car wash. It was the kind where you get out of your car and walk through the building and watch as your car goes through. I remember going to that kind of car wash with my dad when I was little! After that we paid some bills, and then did all of the grocery shopping. We were out for a very long time, and Will only fussed at the very end. I don't blame him. Back at home Will ate and then I put away groceries and cleaned while he played for a bit. We went back upstairs and I worked in my room some more and then we spent the rest of the evening downstairs until daddy got home around 6:30. Will spent the evening with daddy and I headed to bed!
Daddy helped load Will into Nana's car this morning and she took him to babysit Lily. He slept all night, and Klif had to wake him up to feed him before they left. He must have been very tired! He even napped at Lily's! I stopped by to pick up Will once I was off of work, and then headed home. Nana stopped by to drop off my cell phone that I had left, and then she headed back to Muncie. I was so tired, but I had to pick up our Market Day order so we got out in the cold and picked up our food. Since we were out, I wanted to use my Kohl's cash so we stopped in and picked up a clearance shirt for Will, plus 3 pairs of socks. Will was still asleep so I decided to make the drive to Hobby Lobby to get some supplies for an eBay order. By the time we got back it was almost time for daddy to get home! I was afraid that since he slept so late he would be wide awake, but after a short time awake and a bottle, he was ready for bed.
